Does completing this program give me a QLD demolition supervisor authorisation?

No. The Queensland regulator issues demolition authorisations, not OnShift. This program builds the training and evidence a supervisor application typically requires, but the regulator also considers experience, identity and other requirements. Confirm current requirements directly with WorkSafe Queensland before enrolling.

Do I need to be working in demolition already?

Yes. This is an experienced-worker program. Practical workplace evidence is a core part of assessment, so ongoing access to real demolition work is expected.

    How long does it take?

It depends on your existing experience, evidence and workplace access. We give you a realistic timeframe during the eligibility conversation.

    Who this is for

This program is for people who are already working in demolition in Queensland and want to move into a supervisor role. You are likely a good fit if you: - have solid, current Queensland demolition site experience; - are already leading tasks, teams or aspects of demolition work on site; - can commit to classroom attendance plus workplace evidence gathering; - want an honest suitability conversation before spending money on training. Queensland demolition supervisor authorisations typically require significant hands-on experience in addition to training. If you are not sure whether you meet that experience threshold, tell us on the form — we will give you an honest read before you enrol.

    Delivery and assessment pathway

    Entry expectations

Genuine Queensland demolition industry experience is essential. This is not an entry-level program. Applicants should already be working on demolition sites and be able to describe the jobs, methods and equipment they have used. Language, literacy and numeracy sufficient to read Safe Work Method Statements, Australian Standards extracts and demolition plans.

    Assessment

Challenge testing and readiness assessment before enrolment. On program: knowledge assessments, scenarios aligned to Australian Standards and Queensland requirements, and practical workplace evidence assessed against the units of competency.

    Workplace evidence

You need ongoing access to real demolition work so we can gather practical evidence and third-party reports. Where an evidence or experience gap exists we help you plan how to close it honestly — not by shortcutting the requirements.

    Certification issued on successful completion

On successful completion, nationally recognised statements of attainment / qualifications for the units you complete. Queensland demolition supervisor authorisation itself is issued by the state regulator, not by OnShift.
