Banksia Practice Yard: proposed pedestrian path

BP-PACKRevision R0116 October 2026Project BP-01

Fictional training document. Use the edition assigned by your assessor. Read the stated information for this exercise. It is not an engineering approval, construction instruction for a real site, or evidence that work has occurred.

A complete fictional source-reading exercise

Read and describe a proposed plain concrete pedestrian path PW01 between two existing exercise aprons in the fictional Banksia Practice Yard. The proposed work is 8000 mm long and 1500 mm wide. The set contains its site/location plan, construction and engineering-information plan, sections/detail, specification, environmental instructions and document-control records.

BP-01 is a fictional practice yard measuring 12 m × 16 m. Use the drawings, specifications and instructions in this pack to interpret its proposed path. C1 Banksia House is a different 28 m × 40 m property; its R04 drawings do not supply site information for BP-01. Keep the project identities and their dimensions separate.

No construction, excavation, service disturbance or real-site entry is authorised. Review of ground conditions, structural adequacy, drainage, accessibility, products, construction methods and site safety remains outside this reading exercise and is required before any real implementation. Physical assessment requires a separately arranged workplace or close simulation.

How to use the pack

  1. Check project identity, document revision and status against BP-IR01.
  2. Read the drawings with their written equivalents, legends, dimensions and specification.
  3. Record the nominated readings and exact sources in your own words.
  4. Compare the earlier briefing note with the issued documents. Report any discrepancy through BP-WI01; retain the supervisor's response when supplied.
  5. Prepare your project brief. Confirm the separate physical observation arrangements with your assessor.

Drawings are vector SVG and can be opened full-size and enlarged. They are marked NTS: use written dimensions rather than a ruler on a screen. The accompanying tables provide equivalent source information; they are not completed learner answers.
